Transitioning Your Pet to a Fresh Diet

Any pet owner can tell you that they can be super picky when it comes to new food! A full transition to a fresh diet can take up to 10 days -- and in some instances, even longer than that. Here are some rough guidelines for your pet. You know your pet best, so feel free to slow down (or speed up!) based on your pet's response.

  • Days 1-3: Replace 25% of your pet's current food with Raw Paw Feast.

  • Days 4-6: Replace 50% of your pet's current food with Raw Paw Feast.

  • Days 7-9: Replace 75% of your pet's current food with Raw Paw Feast.

  • Day 10: Replace 100% of your pet's current food with Raw Paw Feast.

  • Days 11+: Congratulations! Your pet should be fully adjusted to their new diet.

Remember -- consistency is key. It will take time for your pet to adjust to their new food -- and that's okay! For your pet's safety, be sure they never go more than 24 hours without eating.

Additional Tips:

  • Picky pets may prefer their food at a certain temperature. Our cat enjoys her Raw Paw Feast straight from the fridge. If your pet prefers food closer to room temperature, try mixing one teaspoon of warm (NOT hot!) water with their food.

  • Once removed from refrigeration, raw food has a 2-hour window before it becomes unsafe to feed. Promptly transfer any uneaten food back to the refrigerator.
